While the second season of AMC’s popular horror-themed television series, The Walking Dead, has come to its gripping conclusion, zombie fans don’t have to wait until the next season to satisfy their appetite for more The Walking Dead if they own a PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360.
The first episode of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead, an episodic adventure video game based on Robert Kirkman’s graphic novel series, is now available to download on PC and Mac via Steam, and on PS3 via the PlayStation Network. Xbox 360 owners shouldn't have to wait too long for the first episode as the developer has said that it will be released “very soon.”
The Walking Dead game’s first episode, titled “A New Day,” puts players in the role of Lee Everett, a brand new character in the series who is convicted of murder, but soon finds himself in a lawless world crawling with the undead. Fans of The Walking Dead shouldn’t be too concerned with the game’s apparent lack of familiar faces as they will cross paths with well-known characters from the series periodically throughout the game.
In light of the game’s release, Telltale has revealed a new trailer (watch it above), in which Lee gets into a horrible car accident following his arrest. If you look closely you can even spot someone that bears a striking resemblance to an important character from both the comic and TV series.
“A New Day” is just the first playable episode in The Walking Dead video game series. Telltales is currently developing four additional episodes.
