Sleeping Dogs has topped sales charts in Europe for several of the last few weeks, and it’s not doing half bad in North America, either. That ongoing circumstance leads to some very delighted executives at Square-Enix, and that’s motivation enough for the company to keep DLC coming to support the popular title after its release.
Today, Square-Enix outlined the content that fans can expect to arrive in October. While the press release didn’t name specific release dates or prices, it did reveal enough information that Wei Shen’s many admirers should be in high spirits.
Perhaps the most exciting tidbit is word that the first story-driven extension is on its way. Square-Enix didn’t say anything more than that, though it did promise to reveal new details at New York Comic Con during a special panel. That will happen on October 14th.
In addition to the expanded story content, there also will be the Street Racer Pack, which offers additional street races for all you speed demons out there. Another addition is the SWAT pack, which features twenty new cop missions. If you’re not interested in new challenges, there’s also the Tactical Soldier Pack, which “empowers players with the game’s most powerful weapon and armor.” Finally, the Community Gift Pack offers free, tailor-made content from United Front Games. The exact nature of that content is unspecified, for now.
If you haven’t done so already, you can pick up Sleeping Dogs for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, or you can download it for PC. If you’re looking for an open world game to keep you busy until Grand Theft Auto V, you could do a lot worse.
