While the vast majority of new video games announcements at the Electronic Entertainment Expo this week were console and PC titles, there were some notable Android games revealed at the show such as Square Enix's new Tegra 3-enhanced rhythm-based action game, Demons' Score.
Playable on the show floor, the game is equal parts bizarre and fun. And as you can see from the screenshots the publisher has released along with the game's official announcement, Demons' Score features some truly impressive high-res visuals. This, however, doesn't come as a huge surprise as the game runs on the Unreal Engine 3 and is designed to take advantage of devices powered by Nvidia's Tegra 3 graphics chip.
On top of the Demons' Score's lucious graphics, the game features some rather unusual gameplay, too, in which the player must carefully time their attacks along with the game's music.
As you play the game different colored circles will appear on the screen indicating whether you're supposed to tap or swipe your device's touchscreen. Defeating enemies is accomplished by hitting those prompts as accurately as possible, which slowly depletes the health of your adversaries. You can get a better sense of the kind of experience Demons' Score delivers by watching the official E3 2012 trailer for the game above.
Square Enix hasn't revealed a solid release date for Demons' Score yet, but it said that the game is scheduled to release on Tegra Zone and Google Play sometime this summer.
