The next film in Christopher Nolan's gritty Batman film trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, is undoubtedly one of 2012's most anticipated films -- which says a lot considering the year's other summer blockbusters like The Avengers, The Amazing Spider-Man, and Ridley Scott's Alien prequel, Prometheus, to name a few.

But if you're looking for something to hold you over until The Dark Knight Rises' theatrical release on July 20, Warner Bros. Interactive and DC Entertainment have just announced that the "Game of the Year" edition of Batman: Arkham City is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 29.

Similarly to how Nolan's Batman films received high praise from critics (2008's The Dark Knight holds a 82% review score average on Metacritic), Rocksteady Studio's Batman: Arkham City met universal acclaim when it originally released in October of last year (the PS3 version holds a 92% review score average on Metacritic). And like Nolan's bold vision of the Batman universe, Arkham City exhibits a darker and more mature take on DC's 73-year-old superhero franchise.

Batman: Arkham City: Game of the Year Edition comes packed with additional content, including the brand-new "Harley Quinn's Revenge" expansion pack, in which players face off against as The Joker's maniacal love interest (Harley Quinn) in an episode that spans over two hours of gameplay.

On top of the new episode, the game also features all of the previously released downloadable content for Batman: Arkham City including the Catwoman Pack, Nightwing Bundle Pack, Robin Bundle Pack, Challenge Map Pack, and Arkham City Skins Pack.

But if you're looking forward to playing the new Harley Quinn expansion but already own Batman: Arkham City, you can simply download the new content pack separately in late May.
