This past winter holiday, millions upon millions of smartphones and tablets were sold between Black Friday and New Year's Day, with all those new gadget owners downloading millions more apps and games.

As one might guess, a large portion of that group also downloaded several Angry Birds games.

But just how many?

According to mobile developer Rovio, their crown jewel franchise was downloaded over 8 million times in single day. With such an influx from so many new members of the Android community, that statistic alone makes December 25th one of the biggest days in Angry Birds history.

Naturally, we can assume that Rovio is including all their various versions of Angry Birds released over the years, including the original title, Angry Birds Star Wars, Angry Birds Space and probably even their spin-off release Bad Piggies.

Rovio further drilled down their successes in December with a handy infographic, claiming an impressive 30 million downloads during Christmas Week (which would be December 22nd through 29th). 'Not too shabby.
